About Me

First and foremost, I am a daughter of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. At the young age of seven, I was saved from my sins and made a decision to follow Christ all the days of my life. While I do not walk a perfect path by any stretch of the imagination, I am continually growing and changing as I learn what it really means to be called God’s Daughter!

I’m married to my best friend, and we have three beautiful children together. I have the privilege of staying home with them and raising them to love the Lord with all their hearts, souls, minds, and strength. Jayda, Nadia, and Titus bring so much joy to Tanner and I, and we can’t imagine life without them! I could go on and on about my fabulous family, but I’m sure you’ll be reading plenty about them in my blog!

I love, love, love to decorate our home! There’s a certain thrill that comes from turning these four walls into a “retreat” for our family. I love making something out of nothing, so you’ll often find me at Goodwill or Salvation Army buying more things to add to my ever-growing “project list!”

I like to cook and bake; although, I’m not sure my waistline is liking it very much! I like to try new recipes, and I’m always trying to find ways to sneak loads of nutrition into food that actually tastes good…let me assure you that some of those attempts have failed miserably!

All in all, I’m just a regular ‘ol girl from Iowa who loves the Lord, loves her family and friends, and tries very hard to lead a God-honoring life. I’m hoping this blog will be an encouragement to others, as well as a way for my family to keep a record of the happenings of our lives together.

What a pleasure and blessing it has been to watch you grow, Emily, from a little girl into a godly woman. Even though I see you at church so often, I don’t get the opportunity to talk to you, so it’s fun to get peaks into your family.

  2. Great to hear about things going on with you and Tanner and the kids. This was a great read, and encouraging as well. Hope you guys are able to get out of the garage finally šŸ™‚

    • Hey Bryan! How are things with you? Glad you enjoyed the blog…it’s a good outlet for me, and a good way to keep track of all the happenings around here. We were able to get out of the garage…$200 later. šŸ˜¦ There’s always something with home-ownership! Hope you’re doing well. It would be nice to see you soon and catch up. Hopefully this Spring and Summer will be easier to keep in touch with everyone-we’re all sick of this cold and snow!

Praying for you…I can’t remember where you live? Do you live in Ankeny? (We were in Marcia’s food group together.)
I have a 7 year old daughter, Olivia and a 5 year old daughter, Norah. (Evan is 2) My girls love playdates–if you ever want to have a playdate, I’m here. (I live in Marcia’s neighborhood.) I’d be happy to help in any way while your husband is busy working so that you can be with your mom. Let me know…
