Five years ago we anxiously awaited the arrival of our second daughter. She was scheduled to be born a month early, as pregnancy complications caused her growth to be stunted in-utero.
Her name remained a secret to everyone but her daddy and I. We couldn’t wait to meet her and share her beautiful name with the world. We chose to name her Nadia Grace Kay…names that mean hope, grace, and rejoice. Her name is a living picture of the gift of salvation through Christ Jesus.
Praise God that this little peanut was born at 5 pounds 7 ounces, 18 inches long, and a picture of health! The doctors had prepared us for her to have to stay in the NICU due to her early birth and complications during pregnancy. We were over the moon thrilled that she was perfect. Tiny, but perfect. The last five years have absolutely FLOWN by!
Nadia is the perfect match of sweet with spunky. She’s a busy, busy girl and has a very special glimmer in her eye. Sometimes that spunky glimmer gets her into trouble and makes me so frustrated…other times that spunky glimmer makes me giggle and realize just how special she is.
She is the perfect picture of the saying, “stop and smell the roses.” She has taught us to notice the little things in life and to appreciate them deeply. Her heart for service is a challenge to her mom and dad, as she’s always looking for ways to help others and make sure everyone is well taken care of.
